Fran Farrar, ‘Held’ Exhibition

Printmaker and installation artist Fran Farrar, and basket weaver and ceramicist Cindy Gidney, bring together a beautiful collection of thoughtful, personal works to the still beauty of Becket’s Chapel in Wymondham, Norfolk,  8th– 13th July as part of the Wymondham Arts 2025 programme.  The work explores the notions of ‘held’ - held time, held memories, treasures held and combines delicate print and crafting processes in a shared exhibition.

Having rekindled a decades old friendship, Fran, who used to live in Wymondham but now resides on the Isle of Wight, and Cindy who lives in Norwich, are exhibiting an intimate and considered show of recent works. In ‘Held’ their delicate and meticulously crafted works complement each other with a sense of warmth and tenderness, complemented by a soft and gentle palette.

Fran will be exhibiting etchings and monotypes, including site-specific work created in response to Wymondham Abbey during a brief residency earlier this year. Cindy will showcase her distinctive basketry and intricate sculptural weaving.

There will be a Private View event on 8th July 6 – 8pm and the artists will be available across the exhibition to chat about their practice. The exhibition will be open daily 11am – 4pm as part of the Wymondham Arts’ 2025 programme and admission is free. All exhibited works will be available for sale.
