Fiona's work is primarily about loss. The loss of home, family and culture at an early age informs much of her work. That which is missing and the irreplaceable. She has explored this work as both a philosophical and personal response.

Eschewing notions of nationalism she seeks to explore culture and identity through creating and developing her own comfort of belonging through language, artifacts, totems and geography using a variety of media in both 2 and 3 dimensions.
